This app is garbage and now the actual website has constant popups and redirects in an effort to force people to use the app instead. Honestly at this point 14 news as a whole is garbage.
Stopped loading on my device 3 days ago. When I try to open it all I get is a tiny blue dot in the lower center of my screen!! I'm done fooling with it.
They must have fixed the app. Wasn't working and I uninstalled and reinstalled on 11/17/2023 and now it is fixed. Hope it stays working thanks 14news 👍
Update: Does this app have a virus? Seriously! Google please check this! Does this very disappointing app that floods you with ads. 'We will update this story once more information is available". No, you won't! You never do! STOP LYING!

Poorly designed app UI. Screen randomly refreshes every time you try to click something, realigning everything on the screen and causing you to click on an ad.
App won't open anymore. Says no internet connection. Nothing is wrong with my internet connection. Everything else on my phone works fine. App is up to date. Tried contact email listed here on Google Play for the app, the email comes back undeliverable. Still get notifications about stories. When clicking them sometimes they work sometimes they say no internet connection. This app has too many bugs and too many ads. Incredibly frustrating.
This app sucks! Nothing but ads. Now I can't even read the story. It let's me watch the actual news video clip, but will not let me read the whole article. Ad on top of ad on top of ad. Ridiculous. Worst app ever.
App is very slow to load (several minutes) and you have to watch ads no matter where you go in the app. It wastes time when there is a severe weather report.
Loved this app at first. I was able to stay on top of breaking news. However, in the last several weeks, clicking on any notification takes you to either an advertisem*nt or the splash screen which takes you to an advertisem*nt. After the ad, the splash screen just spins. If you are lucky enough to get past the splash screen, you don't get the info for your breaking news, you get the general app homepage and you have to go dig for the breaking news.
App is so slow! It often takes several minutes to load. None of my other apps take nearly as much time. Navigate away from home page and you are stuck on the new page because back button will not work. You must close app and reload to get to another article from the home page. Too frustrating to use regularly.
The latest update is terrible. Opening news stories sometimes goes to a blank page. Going back from a story just gives you the same page. What was the developer thinking with this update. Come on 14 news. I hope you fix this soon.
App has been awesome for years, however for the last few weeks I haven't been able to use it. Its always crashing Update: at some point the app started working again and just like before it's been working fine for a good while. Now since the update. It's back to being garbage.
This used to be a well functioning app but the most recent update ruined that. You're forced to watch an ad video just to open the app, assuming it opens and doesn't freeze. The layout is congested and clunky now, and pages I want to read will often glitch or something and leave me staring at a blank page. If I try to go back and reload the article, I sometimes have to sit through another ad. I uninstalled the app because it made reading the local news too difficult.
Since the latest update this app sucks! I only want to read the articles not waste my data streaming a video that I can watch on my tv for free! Way to much congestion on the app. I uninstalled my News25 app because it had the same BS on it, now I'm about to uninstall this one! I want the old one back ASAP!!
I love this app at all time this is the only news I paid attention to at all times even on my regular TV station but then they did this change to it and upgrade to it and I don't like it at all very very disappointed in it I am going to have to turn and go the other way to a different news app because the new upgrade Don't make no sense at all hard to understand it now very sorry I hope you fix it cuz I will miss you
The app now constantly sends notifications that force you to open a browser to view the article but then it just trys to play the live feed. The articles are nowhere to be found in the app. If you do open an article in the app it just crashes. I used to use this for my local news now i just get upset when I try to use it. I'm uninstalling.
Crashes all the time now, can't even fully read an article. The minute I scroll down and it shows one of the uber-numerous ads, it crashes. What gives?!
this app NEVER displays the news updates I click on, but rather, it always displays the latest "news" without fail. In fact, I just clicked on one of their news topics they pushed towards me and a completely different irrelevent story appeared; and my story was nowhere to be found.
This used to be a great app. It is terrible now. Very little local news. Full of news from outside this area. If there is a local story, the writer will always say it will be updated and then nothing more is said about the story. Just uninstalled this app. Going to try another station's app.
