Haribo fans are gob-smacked by this 'game-changing' hack (2024)

Kids and grown-ups love it so – the happy world of Haribo.

There’s nothing like a viral internet hack to help make things easier in the kitchen, whether it’s a specific way to store a food to make it last longer or a life-altering tip that changes everything you thought you knew about opening a packet of sweets.

Now, Haribo fans are having their minds blown after TikTok was set alight with a new hack for opening a bag of the world-famous sweets – and it’s not glaringly obvious, either.

Though it’s not clear where the hack originated, the app has been abuzz with this new information of late.

Notably, @majormumhacks shared the advice to her TikTok page, warning Haribo lovers not to open the bag the usual way (like you would a packet of crisps).

Instead, she recommends pulling the tab at the top of the bag (where it would usually be attached to the hook in the supermarket or shop) all the way down, so that it creates a strip-shaped hole.

Doing this also makes it so much easier to seal the packet, stopping any rogue sweeties from escaping, as it can easily be rolled up and the spare tag used almost like an elastic band to keep it all together.

‘I ran to the dollar store to get a bag of gummy bears to see if this works,’ @drproteaches shared on TikTok by way of response.

‘Because these bags, honestly…that looks so much easier,’ she added, before trying the hack.

Though she wasn’t sure if she just ‘jumped the gun’ and went in too quickly, she didn’t quite pull the hack off as well as she could’ve done – but she got the gist.

‘I did it wrong. It sort of worked, I split it both ways – but it has the potential! I will definitely be doing this again in the future.’

Elsewhere, other fans were similarly converted.

‘You’re a genius,’ gushed @meggjones_ in the comments. ‘How did I not know this? GAMECHANGER,’ while @florence.simpsonn added: ‘this has blown my mind!’
